Volunteer Information
Volunteering is an important part of your child’s education. Volunteers can be parents, grandparents, or interested community members. Volunteers make a difference in our students’ lives and play an invaluable role in their education and development. Students’ behaviors improve drastically when they know their parents or other interested parties are a part of the school.
Volunteering can occur in various capacities throughout the school year. It includes participation in parent meetings to assist the school in its progress toward excellence. Volunteer activities vary, and volunteers can help with a wide variety of activities in many places in the school, such as:
- Tutoring
- Office
- Media Center
- Field trips-driving, escorting
- Science lab
- Musical assistance
- Sports concession stands
Volunteers are an integral part of our instructional program. Below is McDuffie County's procedure for registering as a volunteer. All volunteers are considered a mandated reporter, which means each volunteer will be responsible for reporting any case of suspected abuse.
If interested, please complete the application below and submit to the Thomson High School office. Please also bring your driver's license so that a photocopy can be made to attach to the application.
Vendor Information
Pursuant to HB 87, O.C.G.A. 13-10-91, and McBOE Policy GAK (1), all contractors will be required to complete certain documentation before entering into a binding contract with or on behalf of the McBOE. Contractors and sub-subcontractors must sign an affidavit stating that the business has registered with, is authorized to use and uses the federal work authorization program commonly known as E-Verify and will continue to use the federal work authorization program throughout the duration of the contract period. Parties that cannot provide an E-Verify Affidavit must provide proof of a Drivers License or other state issued identification.
