Bonjour!
Continue to work with your virtual lesson module 4. I am including some notes on the subjunctive for you to add to your notebook and also an activity that I would like for you to complete and email to me.
So far, you've learned how to use verbs in the indicative mood. Another mood often used in French is the subjunctive. One use of the subjunctive is with certain phrases expressing obligation and will, such as il faut que and vouloir que.
Il faut que tu finisses ton devoir de maths.
Je veux que vous laviez les voitures.
To make the present subjunctive of all regular and many irregular verbs, drop the ending of the ils/elles form of the present tense. Then add the endings -e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent.
Complete the following activity and email it to me.
Answer the following questions, using il faut que and the subjunctive.
EXAMPLE Marie doit rentrer avant minuit, non?
Oui, il faut que Marie rentre avant minuit.
1. Est-ce que les Fromentin doivent tondre leur pelouse une fois par semaine?
___________________________________________________________.
2. Qu'est-ce qu'on doit étudier en sciences nat pour lundi, le troisième chapitre?
___________________________________________________________,
3. Est-ce que tu dois ranger ta chambre chaque week-end?
