Prom is a formal and special night for students. We hope to maintain the integrity and formality of this night. While we will be reasonable in our interpretation of these guidelines, we want you to know that you will not be allowed to enter the Junior-Senior Prom if you are not dressed appropriately (this includes your date).
If there are ANY questions or concerns regarding the compliance of your Prom attire, please bring a photo of the dress to Ms. Jackson or to Ms. Hubert for approval BEFORE purchasing. Also, please remember that dresses fit differently on different body types. The dress may fit and look differently from a photo of the dress being modeled in a promotional photo.
Ladies
- Dresses may be at least one sleeve or strap (if they fit properly).
- Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the navel.
- 2-piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist: meaning the top MUST overlap with the skirt waistband.
- Midriffs are not allowed to be exposed. This includes both the front and side. With arms down at your side, if flesh touches flesh, the dress is inappropriate.
- Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length.
- Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.
- Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted.
Gentlemen
You are expected to wear formal attire. Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit and include a tie or bow tie, a dress shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund, and dress shoes. Shirts are to be worn at all times.
- Check your SCHOOL EMAIL and REMIND TEXT for Prom 2024 frequently. The Google Classroom associated with Prom 2024 and Remind Text code will become available in January 2024.
- Prom attendees are required to show a form of identification before entering the prom. If identification is not presented, you will not be allowed to enter the prom.
- Prom attendees will NOT be allowed to exit and re-enter the building. Make sure you have everything you may need before you enter.
- The THS disciplinary guidelines still apply during the prom. If a student's actions are against the rules, the student will be dealt with according to the THS Handbook.
- Members of the community (including guardians of THS students) are asked NOT to convene with the students once the Grand March has concluded. All members of the community (including guardians of THS students) will be asked to leave from the front of the building to allow the prom to begin in a timely manner.
- All pictures with THS prom attendees must be taken BEFORE the student arrives at the prom. Pictures will NOT be taken in the mall area after the Grand March concludes to allow proper dismissal of the community.
