As hot as it is it won't be long before the summer vegetables will be ready! The Thomson High School FFA Cannery located on Whiteoak Road will be open June 10, June 13, June 24-27, July 15-19 and July 22-25 for drop off of produce from 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Tomatoes, beans, squash, and peas all can easily! Don't forget your fruits too! Pears, peaches and apples all can extremely well too. Other items to consider canning are juices, soups, applesauce and pie fillings. Just remember--no meat! Enjoy homegrown fruit and vegetables all winter long.
Canning will be a $0.75 per can. Shelling peas are $0.10 per pound.
