School Will Be In Session Monday, Aug. 19

Despite rumors circulating on social media and some Augusta news outlets that there will be no school, there WILL be classes tomorrow at Thomson High School.
Superintendent Mychele Rhodes made a One Call announcement earlier today notifying parents the school system is aware of a social media threat which is circulating today. Throughout the morning system officials have been working with local authorities and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to ensure the safety of students and staff. "We have been advised this is a social media post, which circulated one year ago, and was shared again today. However; we will be treating this post as a credible and current threat and will do all that is necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff members," Dr. Rhodes said.
If at any time, students, parents, or staff members have knowledge of any threat against the system we are asking you to notify system officials immediately by contacting the following number 706-214-3538.
Again, safety precautions are in place, but school will be conducted as usual tomorrow.
