This year Thomson High School has added to its GHSA list of sports available to students. A Bass Fishing team was formed this year under the direction of Jason Brooks. This past Saturday, Feb. 12, four members of the team fished in their first tournament held on Lake Oconee.
Fishing in two-man teams, the team consisting of Carson Ansley and Connor Thomas, caught two fish weighing a total 5 lbs. 1 oz. and placed in the Top 30 out of 238 teams. This finish qualifies them to fish in the state tournament to be held in May at Clarks Hill Lake.
