SkillsUSA Team Members Place at State Convention

Members of the Thomson High School SkillsUSA team competed at the annual Georgia SkillsUSA Convention held in Atlanta Feb. 24-26 and placed in several events. SkillsUSA is a United States career and technical student organization serving more than 395,000 students enrolled in training programs in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
 
THS students Jake Bennett placed 2nd in construction math; Mason Edwards also placed 2nd in the individual welding event; and Roydarious Hobbs placed 2nd in masonry.
 
The SkillsUSA team is sponsored by the THS teachers who teach CTAE classes in the various competition areas.  The above-mentioned students are instructed by construction teacher Steven Whatley and welding teacher Courtney Moser.
