Registration Procedures

  1. A home study student in grades 6-12 who resides in McDuffie County must contact the Thomson High School Guidance Department at 706-986-4222 prior to the test’s registration deadline to notify the school of the intent to take the assessment as well as to obtain information regarding registration, the testing location, test date, and session start and anticipated end times.
  2. Students are required to register online through their College Board accounts for the SAT or the ACT website for the ACT. A school counselor can assist with registration for the ASVAB and AP Exams.
  3. If there is a cost required of public school students for the assessment, then the same is required of home study students. Any associated costs (e.g., registration fees) must be paid in advance of the registration deadline to the applicable entity.
  4. At the time of registration, families must inform the school counselor if a pupil has documented testing accommodations approved by the College Board or ACT. It is the responsibility of the family to request accommodations through the applicable testing agency.
