This season’s first Thomson High School football game in The Brickyard is Friday, August 28 beginning at 8:00 p.m. against the Academy of Richmond County. Bulldog fans and visitors should keep a few safety procedures in mind when planning to attend games this season.
Parking is available across the street from the stadium in the fields adjacent to the McDuffie County School System office, the parking lot beside the old gym, as well as the parking lot at the McDuffie Achievement Center. Overflow parking is available at the Thomson First Methodist Church. Please remember to utilize crosswalks when crossing streets on the way to the stadium.
Patrons should be prepared for a safety screening, including metal detectors, as they enter The Brickyard. Please remember that all system sporting events have a clear bag policy to align with Georgia High School Association guidelines. Only transparent bags will be allowed into sporting events in order to streamline safety screenings.
Also remember that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and all patrons are expected to be seated unless they are in line for concessions or visiting the restroom. Photosensitive fans should be aware that the stadium LED lights will blink or flash at certain times during the game, such as after scoring drives or interceptions. Anyone that may be negatively impacted by the strobing effect should be prepared to take proper precautions.
As a reminder, the start time of the first two home games have been moved to 8:00 p.m. in an effort to mitigate recent high temperatures. This includes the August 28 game against ARC, as well as the September 4 Homecoming game against Warren County.
The safety of our fans, students, staff, players, and visitors continues to be our top priority. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable football season.
