The THS football cheerleading squad traveled to NCA Cheer Camp at the University of Georgia in Athens July 19-22. There they spent four days (along with 15 other teams) from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. learning and perfecting cheers, chants, stunts, jumps, and enjoying team togetherness. Throughout the camp, 13 THS cheerleaders were nominated as All-American Cheerleaders by camp instructors. On Sunday, the squad competed against the other squads in the Camp Cheer and Band Chant competitions. THS was named Top Team in Band Chant and received superior ribbons for the performance in Camp Cheer.
Individual cheerleaders who were recognized were Kelsey Dees and Mya Hester. They both tried out and were named All-American Cheerleaders. JaMiah Lane also received the Pin It Forward Award. She was recognized by the other squads as a cheerleader who went above and beyond.
