First Robotics (FRC)
What is First Robotics?
First Robotics combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. According to the firstinspires.org website, FIRST Robotics Competition is the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
About Us
The THS Robodogs, team 7676, was founded in 2018. During our first season, the team was awarded the Rookie Inspiration Award. In the 2024 and 2025 seasons, we were selected for Alliances where we were finalists. Anyone is welcome to join!
At the end of the 2025 season, all but two of our members graduated. The 2026 season brought 18 new members to join our two returning members. We also officially welcomed Mr. Gunby as a lead coach/mentor. Our team worked diligently during the build season and worked well with teams at District events. At the PCH District Columbus competition, the team was selected by Walton Robotics and Columbus Space Program for an alliance which happened to be the winning alliance.
