Mr. Lyons' Homepage

Welcome parents and students! 

I am Mr. Lyons, and I teach ELA here at Thomson High School. Within English courses, I cherish the life discussions that my students have, and I enjoy helping them to become stronger thinkers and contributors to society. It is my hope that all students in my classroom can be learners as they grow in their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Most importantly, I hope to guide and encourage students to be champions of self-advocacy.

I graduated high school from Glascock County Consolidated School, and I earned my Bachelors of Science in English Education at Toccoa Falls College in Northeast GA. I am currently working towards earning my Master of Arts in English Studies for Language Arts Teachers at Valdosta State University. 

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, spending time with my dogs (Teddy and Summer), traveling, creating artwork, and hanging out with my friends and family.
