About Me
Cameron "Cam" Bentley is a proud lifelong native of Thomson-McDuffie County and a 2019 honor graduate at Thomson High School. Here at THS, Cam was awarded Most Outstanding Male Student and Mr. Thomson High School, while serving as Student Body Co-President, Captain of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Head Equipment Manager for Basketball and Football, and members of the Distinguished Men’s Group, Future Business Leaders of America, and the National Beta Club.
Cam is active in the community and serves as the Youth, Male, and Senior Choir Director at Mount Aldred CME Church in Brier Creek, and is active in the Youth and Young Adult Ministries. In addition, Cam is also a local business owner.
After high school, Cam attended Georgia State University in Atlanta. At Georgia State, Cam served as the Head Student Equipment Manager for GSU Football, overseeing dozens of student managers over the course of 4 years, going to three bowl games in four years, winning the 2020 Lending Tree Bowl and the 2021 Camellia Bowl.
Cam completed his student teaching at David T. Howard Middle School of Atlanta Public Schools in Atlanta, GA. At Howard, Cam coached Football and Basketball, winning the 2022-23 Atlanta Public Schools Middle School Championship, the first in school history, with an "undefeated" record of 14-1.
Cam graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Middle Level Education, with concentrations in Mathematics and Social Studies. After college, Cam has made his way back to his alma mater, Thomson High School, where he teaches Algebra, while also serving as Assistant Offensive Line Coach and Equipment Specialist for the Thomson High Bulldogs Football Team.
