BIO

My name is Jorge G. Granados and I will be your child’s Spanish Teacher for this school year.  I am a graduate of Texas A & M International University. Throughout my years in the university, I taught in various districts in Texas concentrating in bilingual education as well as ESOL. I had the pleasure of teaching Spanish to all grade levels as well as adults during my preparation in becoming an educator.

As a teacher, it is my intention to provide your child with a quality education in Spanish where he or she will become successful in acquiring a second language. I will do everything possible to make your child feel more confident and knowledgeable of the Spanish Language and Culture. I strongly believe that your child will increase their learning capabilities when learning a foreign language as well as prepare them for a bilingual world.

Your child will be receiving a handbook with rules, procedures, and routines that will help maintain a safe environment for learning. I would appreciate your support by going over this handbook with your child when he or she gets home in order to ensure understanding and a sense of responsibility for these policies.

I strongly believe that parents and guardians are essential in our team to promote learning. Involvement in your child’s education is important. Making sure your child completes his or her homework will assist our goals to mold your child into a highly functioning, life-long learner who is an employable, productive, and adaptive citizen capable of demonstrating problem solving skills.

Part of being successful in our Spanish Class is to have the appropriate materials for this school year. In addition, Students are required to log on to their google classroom where they will find their textbook and assignments.

Students have already set up their accounts for this learning website and the textbook is visible under their folders. Daily studying of vocabulary words is required. I consider this a crucial part of learning a foreign language. This will also benefit your child in increasing his or her vocabulary and providing the stepping stones into becoming a bilingual citizen.
