Accelerated Anatomy

Human Anatomy & Physiology studies the structures and functions of the various systems of the body.  In learning about the systems, we will also learn about the cells, tissue and organs involved in these systems and how these systems work together to maintain homeostasis.

Your schedule may say Epidemiology instead of Anatomy if you are or have been enrolled in the third level of Health Care Science.  The completion of those three courses also earns you a credit for anatomy as far as the State of Georgia is concerned.  In order to make sure that you truly have all the Health Care Science and Human Anatomy information that you will need to work in a health care field, we have decided to embed the study of Epidemiology into the Anatomy classes so the students get the best education possible in preparation for your secondary goals.  Epidemiology deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health, so as we study each system, we will also look at them from the perspective of diseases that may impact those systems.
